Long division: two digits by one digit
Practice dividing two-digit numbers by a one-digit number using long division. The divisors range from 2 to 9, and every division has no remainder.
Divide the first partial dividend by the divisor and write the quotient digit. Multiply this digit by the divisor and subtract the product from the partial dividend. Bring down the next digit of the dividend, if there is one, and repeat. If the resulting number is smaller than the divisor, write 0 in the quotient. The final remainder should be 0.
At each step, enter the quotient digit, product, and remainder. For example, 84 ÷ 3 = 28. Choose the session length and time allowed per question. Select “Show answer” to see the complete solution.
