Long division with remainders within 100
Practice division with remainders using numbers up to 100. Divide a two-digit number by a number from 2 to 9. Every question has a nonzero remainder.
Choose the largest quotient digit whose product with the divisor does not exceed the partial dividend. Subtract the product and bring down the next digit of the dividend, if there is one. If the partial dividend is smaller than the divisor, write 0 in the quotient. The number left after the final step is the remainder. It must be smaller than the divisor.
At each step, enter the quotient digit, product, and remainder. For example, 87 ÷ 4 = 21 remainder 3, because 21 × 4 + 3 = 87 and 3 < 4. Choose the session length and time allowed per question. Select “Show answer” to see the complete solution.
